Stand Out and Differentiate Yourself

When you attend a networking event, do you feel pressure to make a connection with someone in order to justify being there? Do you have a systematic approach to standing out and differentiating yourself in an introductory meeting? This presentation will consider these business situations and explain a set of habits and behaviors you can follow to gain value for you and your firm. It will also discuss how your personal network can be vital in winning new work for your firm.
During this lab, you’ll learn:
- How to prepare for networking events
- How to make a personal connection in an introductory meeting
- How to leverage your network to win work
You will leave with a number of hot tips you can utilize daily to differentiate yourself and your organization.
About the Presenter
Matthew Danis, CPSM, serves as Vice President for Shook Construction Co. managing the marketing and business development for the company. Shook Construction is a large commercial contractor performing work throughout the Midwest and Midatlantic regions. Danis has been with the firm since 2006. He is winding down his role as Immediate Past President of the SMPS Northeast Ohio Chapter and currently serves as the Sponsorship Chair.
